Posted April 6, 200520 yr comment_119641 I picked up a diecast model today that had been ordered a couple of months ago.I know there's been some back and forth postings on which manufacturer is best, but I can't fault the model I bought today of a 1970 Datsun 240Z, scale 1:18, made in China by Yat Ming for the princely sum of $39.50 Aust. Even with my glasses on, my four eyes can't fault the detail. The only fault is that they must have mirrored the plans 'cause the steering wheel's all wrong. It's on the LEFT !!!!!!!!Their website is interesting,www.yatming.comRick. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15562-diecast-model/ Share on other sites
April 6, 200520 yr comment_119646 The best 240 in 1/18 IMO is the Kyosho. They even have the vertical defroster lines. Yat Ming is about the same quality wise as Road Signature and the least quality wise would be Sunstar. Sunstar is the company that makes a black 1972 and as we all know, there were no black 240s from the factory. April 6, 200520 yr comment_119676 I've never looked at the Yat Ming, because I've always imagined it being similar to the Road Signature "rally car" I bought. It was utter crap. The shell of the car was actually a noticeably different shape.. shocking. So I stick with Kyosho too. They're about twice the price but the detail is gorgeous. I have a red Fairlady Z, silver 240Z and white 240ZG BTW my rally car doesn't have any defroster lines, but it does have D hubcaps! I'm talking about the door window frame. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15562-diecast-model/#findComment-119741 Share on other sites

Yat Ming is the company name, Road Signature is a brand name. And Sun star arent that bad, about the same as Road signature, better in some ways, but worse in others. Kyosho are the best though, in Die cast. Anyone got any ebbro? They always seem to look a bit dodgey in photos. sblake01 said: ..as we all know, there were no black 240s from the factory. Yes, but there should have been Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15562-diecast-model/#findComment-119742 Share on other sites
