Posted May 4, 200222 yr comment_6653 i've been working on my car for the last while, and i finally got it to a point where it is startable. my problem is that my stinkin' car won't stay running for more than a second! the starter is working for sure, but i have to hold the key -beyond- the 'on' position to keep it going! i imagine that the ignition switch has something to do with it, but i'm not sure !!! i wouldn't want to spend money if i don't need to! thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/1559-new-ignition-switch/ Share on other sites
May 4, 200222 yr comment_6666 Sorry, but it sounds like the switch may be the problem. If you can, try one out of a parts car to be sure before you spend the big bucks on a new one. Sounds like the barrel assembly may be so loose it is not making contact inside.
