Alternative Hoisting Brackets

A few months ago I purchased a 1975 280Z. I'm planning on pulling the engine in a few weeks and I have noticed the standard hoisting brackets are not mounted to the engine.

Are there any alternative aftermarted brackets that would work well? Is there another way to support the engine when hoisting?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Many people do not use the brackets for fear of 30 year old metal breaking.

Instead of using after market brackets, when pulling my L24 I just used hardened screws with a few heavy duty washers. It worked very well for me, I had no problems

A few months back I pulled the short block and tranny from my parts car. I had already removed the head and sold it some months prior so the typical locations were not available to me for hoisting. I took a tow chain ran it through the motor mounts on each side and under the block/oil pan then attached to the hoist as you normally would.

This worked great!
