Posted April 14, 200519 yr comment_120449 I am just starting working on some concepts for a new Z concept. After getting to something I like I will do a full rendering but I thought I would start getting some feedback now. Attached are a couple of very early images. Feedback and suggestions would be very helpful. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15632-z-concept-feedback/ Share on other sites
April 14, 200519 yr comment_120453 i personally like "A" better. "B" looks a bit to squashed, though "A" looks almost TOO S30.... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15632-z-concept-feedback/#findComment-120453 Share on other sites
April 14, 200519 yr Author comment_120457 I know what you mean about it almost looking to much like the original. Its a fine line between a modern interpretation and a direct copy. Still working on more ideas and looking to see what kind of feedback I get then we will see what comes along. April 14, 200519 yr comment_120467 How about making it a bit longer by adding a little to the rear while following the contour of the curve over the roof and across the hatch, even up to a couple of feet.Another "How about" is to add retractable headlight covers that slide up over the front or rear of the headlights.Rick. April 14, 200519 yr comment_120471 "B" looks strikingly like the old Cheetah racer of the 60's, like it. Unfortunately, because of that it loses it's identity as a Z Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15632-z-concept-feedback/#findComment-120471 Share on other sites
April 14, 200519 yr Author comment_120488 Bravo I can stretch the rear out some but from playing with it earler it looks OK but not much like a z for some reason. When I get a chance I will post an image of one with a longer rear. Also we can do the popup headlights if we do that we can just keep the nice smooth front shape of the car without the exposed headlights. I dont like the ones on it now anyway. Thinking of headlights we could just go completly retro like the new mustang end just make scoops with covers like the original one. What do you guys think? Yes Bravo does not look at much like a z. Whats funny is when I set down to just do some drawing I tended to come up with something that looked like a Ferrari like the kits for the Z:) I think thats what I really liked more than the Z. See attachments to see what I tend to lean to in a Z design. Not a Z but pretty. April 14, 200519 yr comment_120496 What about making the headlights rotate over like the Opel GTs, they look finished on or off-just make sure they don't get stuck in transition! Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15632-z-concept-feedback/#findComment-120496 Share on other sites
April 14, 200519 yr Author comment_120502 Thats interesting I had never looked at Opel GT headlights before. I guese it would be possible to do something like that but have the look more like the original Z hmmmm. April 14, 200519 yr comment_120513 I always thought the "German Vette" was interesting! The rotating assembly could be made to look very much like a Z with painted headlight covers whenm the lights were in the "off" position, and like a Z with clear covers in the "on" position-only the transition activity would give it away. Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15632-z-concept-feedback/#findComment-120513 Share on other sites
April 14, 200519 yr comment_120517 Hmm, how about something like this minus wings and rear diffuser. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15632-z-concept-feedback/#findComment-120517 Share on other sites
