I'm new here, have read threads on auto to manual conversions and I think I can list what I need for a conversion to manual in a 260Z. What I'd really appreciate knowing (before I buy the car) is roughly how much a conversion would be in Aussie $, not doing it myself, i.e. parts (if I can find them plus) fitting.

The "if you can find them" bit may cause headaches as manual pedal boxes are rare. The actual gearboxes are easily obtained though. Find out what all the parts will cost then go talk to your local mechanic and ask him for a price to do the work.

I've rung around a bit and I'm finding it hard to get a price on the job (not many takers to do the work). I need to factor in the whole lot to see whether to buy the 260.

Anybody know from experience what it's worth?

There were a few places in Melbourne quoting me $1250-$1500 including all parts and a warranty - if that gives you a ballpark.

Yep, thanks for that. $1250-$1500 doesn't sound unreasonable, gives me something to work from.
