I like to browse through the older stuff to get ideas about mods or repairs, or suitable swaps. But unfortunately, if a topic is over a month or so old since the last comment, then people consider it closed, and if you post a comment, somebody asked why you commented on an 'old' topic.

THERE IS NO "OLD" OPIC! No information goes out of date. That's why we have the repair manuals. Some of them are just as old as the car! Even the 'car' is 100 years old!

I also think the Boobs topic should be closed. As some people like to say, we are about classic Z-cars here. Boobs doesn't seem to be related to a Z-car to me.

thx

I agree with TomoHawk on this one. Only I dont see any thing wrong wit the boob thread, to me if people dont like do go there, dont. The search is important and seems to be difficult to locate information. What bothers me on posting on old , old threads is when the discussion is completed and it is months old and some one post a further question insted of starting a new thread. If when reading a old thread sparks a need for information on the topic. Start a new thread and ask. Digging up a 4 or 6 page thread on adjusting valves , that mabey 6 mo or a year old and wanting clearity , this is what I mean. My 3cts. Gary

"Suggesting the use of the SEARCH function is great advice and shouldn't be viewed so negatively (in all cases). Teaching someone to help themselves is infinitely more valuable than holding their hand every day for the rest of their life."

If you did that in todays world nodody would know how to do anything lmao

As for the question of posting more often ???? I try to post when I have something helpful to say some encouragement I try not to speak down to people or be condecending and sarcastic like others with little left in the life but to post 24/7 !!! From the begining just the way this thread started I felt there was a problem and some how I got involved in it !!! I just wish some people could be more considerate of others and not be so quick with their responses !!!! But if you are going to tell me Boobs is revelent to Z cars and it is not like I do not like seeing beautiful women !!!!! That's my 2 cents and you correct other peoples spelling and even get a chuckle at their expense if that what turns you on !!!!!

Alex,

Calm down man...Carl was joking around....DON'T START flaming him, that's what you are trying to do....

He wasn't actually correcting their spelling...he was making sure others saw what Alfa typed....cause obviously you didn't see the sarcasm of the original post by Alfadog....others might have not noticed either

That's why he did that....he wasn't exactly correcting spelling, geeze man.

If people are too lazy to take advice meant to help them to learn to help themselves, what do I care. I'm not their Daddy!

I am sure that Alfa knew that I was joking WITH him regarding the subject matter. Perhaps you aren't familiar with the difference between "impotent" and "important". but I am sure that Alfa and myself do know the difference.

It's getting to be more than annoying when people like yourself complain about the amount of time people (including myself) spend here trying to help people. If you feel we aren't helping people enough, GET OFF YOUR arse AND HELP SOME PEOPLE! Don't expect me or anyone else to do more than we choose to do just to please you.

When the material has been explained in detail a dozen times the choice between going over it a thirteenth time, or helping to answer a different question is easy to make. Of course on the other hand I could just have you email my schedule on a daily basis so I know how much time you expect me to put in.

I have just began to chime in on this thread, but with the direction it was going I decided I needed to comment.

I do not mean to shift this thread at Carl, but this is a perfect case a point of the club. I have seen people ask really lame questions showing there extreme laziness (won't mention any names) and Carl showing how he feels, it is understandable.

Although about 2 weeks ago I posted a simple question in the shout box, Carl answered. But then he decided to take a break from whatever he was doing and write me a full length PM disccussing the solution to my problem, and I really appreciated it. That is what these clubs are for helping others. I kind of lost my focus on this thread but you guys get the point.
