My wife has On Star in her car. When you get elderly, you need to know where you are at all times. We just push the button and say, Where are we? Seriously, it is a nice feature to have. I would rather she calls AAA when she has a flat then to call me. I will be doing something important like playing golf or working on my Z and do not want to be disturbed. You guys understand that don't you? :knockedou

i've hear of a guy who put his car in the ditch and set his airbag off. on star called for police and the guy was charged for impaired. i suppose he's not a happy customer.

He probably would have been happier if OnStar had instead called a bartender to deliver him another drink.

Now that you mention that situation, I recall a news story a while back in the Bay Area (CA) that reported an OnStar customers airbag had gone off and the authorities were contacted. As OnStar tried to give the authorities the vehicles location via the GPS, they noticed that the car had left the point of the initial Air Bag deployment and was still mobile. Later the GPS signal showed the car located at the owners residence, so the police showed up there to arrest him. Turns out there had indeed been a hit & run accident at the Air Bag deployment location (CHP logs were used to confirm) and the OnStar data was used to place him at that location and convict him.

Bet he's not too thrilled with OnStar either.

Chicken--don't take me the wrong way...it just seems like you waste your time saying it would cause a mark in your wallet...cause it never has in mine or anyone elses who has done this....I 'get' the condom remark....
