No I don't believe those are it. The PO had them painted and when we cleaned them the only thing we seen was the size and Made in Mexico. I'm in contact asking the PO what "brand" of wheels they are.

Usually those mesh type mags have a silver beauty ring, not all black.

I'd say, go around to different wheel shops and try some discount wheel stores, about 3 years ago I picked up a set (14's) for $250CAD (clearance sale) at a place called dollar Tire in Edmonton.

Those mags are popular on AE86's and other older RWD Jap cars! They shouldn't be very expensive unless its a top brand name or something.

I think 16's were used on older Transam's, but I'm not sure.

Hope this helps,

Alex

These new beauties are 16x7 16x8 Epsilons and new Potenza RE750 rubber 225-50/245-45 from daddz. Well they fit my Z (coil overs). Next step is to see if they fit his 280Z with the stock spring perch. Any thoughts?

They even fit his 1972 Celica, thats a 245-45 from a 185-80-13. One heck of an upgrade that was short lived.

Do the black wheels have a 0 offset? Do you hve and rubbing problems with the inside of the rear fenders? I would like to go with 0 offset 16's and 225/50's but I do not want to have rubbing issues.

No rubbing. even under full compression.

They are zero offset and tires are 225-50 as well..

The 245-45-16 on 16x8 zero offset Epsilons did rub just a touch only on full compression but nothing like the 14x7 slots w/ 215/60's that started cutting a groove in the tire.

I used to have 16" wheels on my Z when I first got it. The rear had 225/60/16 tires on it with no rubbing problems. The front was another story. If you put anything bigger than 205's on there, it would rub the front of the fender well on full lock turns. I didn't like the look at all and dumped the wheels for some 15" Panasports. Now I have 215/60/15's on there. After a minor amount of rolling the front fender lip, I don't have any rubbing. A 50 series tire would not probably rub at all. This car is more of a cruiser, so I was was trying to save some comfort.

I have debated wheather or not to go with 225/50/16's or 205/55/16 or 205/60/15's for some time now. I have 205/60/14 on slotted mags with -12 offset. I do not have any rubbing and the suspension is lower than stock but it is very stiff too, they look as though they should rub. I would like to have a tire diameter closer to the original size, hince the tire and wheel size choices I listed before. I have heard people say they had rubbing probs with the 225/50/16's in the past. I think I will go with 205/60/15 for the lower price (I am poor), the comfort (Not old yet but getting there), and they should not follow the groves in the road as bad as 225's with the alignment I have. Thanks for the info Marty and 240ztt.

Hey guys, I like the mesh black and the mesh silver....good lookin wheels on a Zed...

Epsilon...any info on these? They look like Enkies....also, you guys are in the know much more than me on the next question so here goes....

Give me all the info you can regurtitate (sp)....

What is the handling changes if you use wider (1") wheels and tires in the rear, compared the front. What would be the changes if you had lets say 15x7s with 225/60/15 (Konig Rewinds)....compared to lets say the same setup (15x7s) with 235/50s in the rear, and lets say 205/60/15s in the front on these 15x7 rims?

I'd rather have fatter tread in the back, and have better steering at slow speeds (parking lots) with smaller tread on the front....

But any comments would be greatly appreciated! Love those mesh black wheels...I like them a lot!

Everyone have a great Monday...as far as that goes! :classic:
