April 22, 200519 yr comment_121369 Hey, anyway you can get it in without damaging the car and that it works afterward, and that you are comfortable doing, works for me. The procedure you mention (putting the Z sideways), says you have the car on a rotisserie. Most people take the car off the rotisserie before they start installing wipers and wiring.Now that you have the wiper mechanism and motor in, BEFORE you put on your wipers, first give it a test. Make sure that the wiper motor has PARKED and is in the proper position for the wipers. April 23, 200519 yr Author comment_121402 You make a very good point about the wiper motor. I will definetely turn the wipers on and off before installing the wiper blades. I did that on another restoration I did in 2002. I turned the wipers on and they wiped the cowl and hood. It scared the heck out of me when it went the wrong way. No paint damage but it was touch and go!I will take the Z off the rotisserie, soon. I am waiting for some help in getting in on the ground. I have a portable floor lift that we will use but we have to balance it very carefully in order to take the rotisserie off and out of the shop. I am trying to put the windows and lock brackets in the doors. I have not done one of these for over 20 years. I read "the book" and the guys does not give me a sequence for putting the door together. I guess I will search this forum for advice. If I cannot find the info, I will check with the boys. Clip an old fashioned wooden clothes pin to the wiper pivot post when you are ready to test the wiper movement. They will illustrate the movement to ensure it is in the correct direction without (possibly) sacraficing your cowl and hood.
