my proposed paint

i've been tossing around a few ideas on what colo(u)r to paint my car. originally, i was going to go with the original yellow with the black "240z" stripe on the side. then, as i got a bit more adventurous, i decided to toss around a few ideas. though my fave colour is yellow, i've always liked the way green looks on cars. as a matter of fact, all of the non-z cars i have owned have been green! anyway, here is my result:

it's going to be a little bit darker of green, probably BRG, but with a gold pearl. i'm also debating if the BRE stripes should be vinyl (to remove them if i get sick of them) or painted under the clear coat (so it looks nice). anyway, i'm ready for input!

that looks sweeeeeet. I'm not a HUGE fan of green, but that is a hella cool color. My old G20 used to be dark dark green, so almost looked black from far away.

How dark of green are you going to be going?

An idea that I have seen done well: A metal flake paint under the clearcoat of the BRE stripes so that in the right light the BRE stripes are visible. It is not as eye catching, and is very suttle.

If you need the correct dimensions of the BRE stripes, I might know someone who can help you with that :cross-eye ...Also, the "datsun" logo sits right under the body line on the fender. See my gallery for more details.

That looks very similar to the stock 113 Green Metallic (below), which is what I'm going to go with on my some day. Gets my vote! Not sure about the white stripes though... I like the horizontal ones better but those are unique anyway.

thanks guys! i'm looking at maybe a a wee bit darker. i'll try my best to emulate it, but i'm not that proficient at photoshop. thanks ron, i'm going to post an updated picture as soon as i get to adjusting it.

Dodge has that color that changes in the light, that emulates the color that you have mentioned....I think your z would look great in that color.

Met Jello a long time ago, the DK's played at my High School in Northern Calif. A good story for another time. Nothing like a little "Holiday in Cambodia"!!

Are you going to MSA? If so, track me down my Z and Roadster will be there.

unfortunately, i'm working both friday and sunday, and cruising up to orange just for saturday isn't that practical for me. i'm gonna have to wait for next year..

it's too bad the issues with jello and DK
