Posted April 21, 200519 yr comment_121289 The seat belts in my '71 240z are shot. Push botton latches permenantly fussed and belt material is faded and cut short. What would be ideal (according to what I've read) would be a retractable set from a 260 or 280 2+2. (no pockets for standard retractable)Problem is, I can't seem to find anything anywhere.Zedd Findings has had no luck and I haven't even gotten responces from others I've emailed. MSA has only racing belts and British Victoria only has a plain lap belt that wouldn't work with my sholder belt (even if it were reworked).Anyone know a source or someone who can repair? April 21, 200519 yr comment_121295 John,Most local companies I have contacted about replacing the webbing in my seatbelts have declined saying that the liability in the case of an accident was too great-the company would become the answer to bodily injury claims if the insurance company found out.Do you want the front or rear from the 2+2?Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15688-seat-belts-locating-source-or-restorer/#findComment-121295 Share on other sites
April 21, 200519 yr comment_121296 The push button latches can be dissassembled and cleaned. You should be able to restore them to perfect working condition. As far as the belt material, I hate to say "do a search" but there was a topic a while ago that had a link to a company that would take your old belts and replace them with new material. And if you want a retractable set from a 260 or 280 2+2. I'd say call some junk yards. Try Zcarsource .Good luck. April 22, 200519 yr Author comment_121301 Will,Front belts are what I need. The reason for needing from a 2+2 is that there are no pockets for retactable belts as later model Zs. According to forum post and referred pages, belts for a 2+2 are supposed to work.Ed,I'll try Zczarsource Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15688-seat-belts-locating-source-or-restorer/#findComment-121301 Share on other sites

April 24, 200519 yr comment_121516 John:Another outfit to call for possible rebuild is Hooker Harness. The put together kits for NASCAR, CART, most light aircraft manufacturers, and theyt do work for the small guy, too. As far as I know, you would have to send them your fastners because they insist on sewing up the belts themselves.www.hookerharness.comKevin Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15688-seat-belts-locating-source-or-restorer/#findComment-121516 Share on other sites
