April 23, 200519 yr comment_121416 This is the best stuff I have found for scratches. I had some pretty bad ones on the gas tank of my black '88 Honda Magna and the ScratchX took them right out. :cheeky: http://www.meguiars.com/store_meguiars/product_detailpage.cfm?sku=G-103&store=meg Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15697-scratch-removers/#findComment-121416 Share on other sites

April 23, 200519 yr comment_121455 one or two of the scratches I want to fix go through the paint to the primer. No scratch remover is going to repair a scratch that deep. You will have to go the touch up paint method, do something soon since you are down to the primer it is the same as being down to the metal, rust will soon appear! April 23, 200519 yr comment_121457 haha, that's funny! (Magna is a family sedan made by Mitsubishi in Australia) Oops…I completely forgot about the Magna sedan. You must have thought I was crazy crawling under by car to repair a scratch on my highly polished gas tank My ’88 Magna: Sorry to go off topic for a bit. Now back to subject at hand: Scratch Removal. April 23, 200519 yr Author comment_121474 No scratch remover is going to repair a scratch that deep,I knew you would say that, so I'm working on some stuff to rub into the scratch to fill it partially, then I'll get some paint mixed up to match the color. April 23, 200519 yr comment_121475 I have some scratch remover creme in a tube, but I don't think it really works, or I'm not using it right. Is anybody using or know of any magical scratch remover creme or liquid that actually works?thxRelated question, Anyone used the "color typed" waxes on their car?I see these waxes supposedly designed for use with just red cars or just green cars or just black cars, etc, etc....Do those waxes actually work to hide or cover up scratches or small front end road grit type paint chips?I'm guessing they just have a litte red or green or black etc pigment in the wax? April 23, 200519 yr Author comment_121476 I used the "red" one on my Escort (maroon-red) after I got it because I scraped a "pole in the cement-bucket" and it left a scetch in the front bumper cover. That's how I found out the front bumber had a white plastic cover.thx Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15697-scratch-removers/#findComment-121476 Share on other sites
