Hi everybody

new to this forum and only joined for one question (that doesn't nice!)

I need the following for a 240z that is in Holland (Europe, not MI)

weatherstrip-door rh-lh

>rubber-bumper door 2x

>weatherstrip-tail gate inner 1x

>weatherstrip-tail gate outer 1x

>door weatherstrip-rh-lh

>under door seal 2x

>cowl-to-hood weatherstrip 1x

>windshield weatherstrip/ with stainless trim(voorruit rubber)

>window weatherstrip/with stainless trim (achterruit rubber)

I do not know any place to buy this.

Found one website (intheweedz.com) which worked last week but turned into a cooking website!!!!!

Please let me know where to buy it in a kit (if possible) and what would be the best place to get it.

Any help is appreciated!

the place i bought mine was motorsportauto it cost me 215 for the whole set. If you price the parts seperately its outragous. you can also by sets on ebay.com or on datsunrestore.com , good luck

Not to hijack this thread but I have a quick question about the SS trim of the rear hatch glass. I took off the original louvers, which used three very slim "slat's" that were shoved under the rubber molding (secured with tape). One of the reasons for removing them was that the locks were shot, but also because the top corner SS trim pieces were coming loose.

Well, one of the corner pieces has come off competely as the "lips" of the rubber no longer will grip it tightly. I hate to have to pull the glass just to reattach that little corner piece. Anyone have any ideas what might be used to secure it in place? I originally thought of that windshield adhesive putty (black) that you find in the local auto parts place. Any other suggestions?

just did whole hatch glass and weatherstrip. my corners were missing already. when i researched the corner trim attachment, i read that these are susceptible to falling off. it was recommended to use the adhesive just on the corners. sorry, can't remember exactly where i read it (i think Wick Humble's Restore book), but that's the way i attached mine.

What kind od adhesive did you use?

used Permatex black silicone adhesive/sealant about $5 per tube at parts store. probably get it a little cheaper at walmart,kmart etc.

i used the small tube as opposed to the large caulking gun style because it was easier to maneuver, wasn't sure if i needed the extra (didn't want to waste it), and i could get a finer bead with the tip. apply adhesive, place corner, then use masking tape to secure until adhesive sets. if you are missing the little outer rubber on the channel to capture the trim (on my old weatherstrip they were worn off) you probably HAVE to use masking tape to secure.

I bought a weaterstripping kit for my 240z from Victoria Bristish Ltd. They have lots of parts for 240Zs. Warning - I replaced my weatherstripping around the passenger side door and now it doesn't close all the way. The new stripping fit really nice but seems a bit to thick. Maybe it's just because it's new. Anyway, now I'm trying to figure out how to get my door to close all the way. Still, with that said, Victoria British is a good source of parts. This is a common problem that is apparently worse when you use the aftermarket "Precision" brand kit as opposed to the Nissan OEM seals. Eventually the weatherstrip will compress and the door will be able to close easier. You're just going to have to really slam it for a while.

just adjust your door striker out a little bit. after a while (unsure how long) readjust as the weatherstripping compresses. better than slamming the door, since i believe you run the risk of racking the door or breaking something.

....and hope that nothing on your door, or the latch mechanism breaks from having to abuse the car just to be able to use a seal that doesn't fit properly. If the door doesn't close properly, the seal doesn't fit, no matter how easily it went onto the car.

The only way to go is OEM seals all the way.
