Posted May 3, 200519 yr comment_122410 Someone has 6 restorable Z-cars up for auction in the Phoenix area. Sounds like they are all pretty solid, just some surface rust. Three 240Zs, a 260, a 280 and a 300ZX Turbo all starting at just $99.00! I sent a question to the seller and the silver Series I in the background of the lime green '73 240 and one other will also be listed within 24 hours. May 3, 200519 yr comment_122432 It also shows a steering wheel without holes, and an aircleaner without the winter/summer valve. That 1970 could be a real find for someone. If it has been protected by the dry desert air. serial number 5578 is about June 1970.Even if the body did turn out to be beyond saving it looks as if there are potentially quite a few 1970 bits that would be worth stripping and selling on their own, as there are numerous bits that were unique to the early cars that are really difficult to find these days.- 2400 valve cover- 'oil' ( non elephant) cap on the rocker cover- original bonnet if salvageable ( no holes on the inside - as per Kats website)- possible complete series 1 dash with original gauges - it already has a cap on it - not surprising in Arizona-can't be sure from the photos but it might have the original slotted heater central vent and non-hooded map light cover-there is a rusty original lap belt buckle showing in one picture-early non-reclining seat mechanisms-early tailgate with grillsNot too sure about the 'decent' seats though ;-)Andrew Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15786-6-restorable-arizona-zs-by-1-owner-on-ebay/#findComment-122432 Share on other sites

May 4, 200519 yr Author comment_122540 This time this guy has it right, just listed another Series I (#3486). These cars are prime candidates for restoration since they have been in the dry Arizona desert. Solid bodies with just some surface rust. I would love to buy this one listed below and the other '70 he has up for auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4547631522&category=6187&sspagename=WDVWOh, and he also listed one more, a '73, for a total of 8 Zs, sitting in the same field in "The Valley of the Sun" Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6187&item=4547605179&rd=1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15786-6-restorable-arizona-zs-by-1-owner-on-ebay/#findComment-122540 Share on other sites

May 4, 200519 yr comment_122542 That silver 1970 car number 3486 looks almost the same as mine when I bought it - right down to the fake sheepskin seat covers, and the cracks in the dash. Although mine didn't have a field growing in the engine bay.Shame it has no airfilter on it. Might mean the engine has been contaminated with dirt from the air, but I may be wrong.Still, a seemingly unmolested early car. Not so common these days.
