May 9, 200519 yr comment_123146 Made my day in the sense you got your Zed back man! I hope if this ever happens to me that I would be able to touch her again. Apologies for what they did to her. May 11, 200519 yr comment_123319 A friend of mine had his Datsun stolen recently. They did not break into the car, they did not 'hot wire' it and they did not take anything other than the new wheels and tires. ($2000) He figures the key was duplicated when he got his tires. The Datsun was at the tire shop for 6 hours. They found the car up on blocks at a new house that was being built. He thinks he knows who did it. Here are the clues: The driver was very short (seat up), the radio was on a hispanic station. We are not certain who stole the car but we think we have a good idea. We do not want to "profile" the thiefs but I think they gave up too many clues. Duh! May 11, 200519 yr Author comment_123407 Made my day in the sense you got your Zed back man! I hope if this ever happens to me that I would be able to touch her again. Apologies for what they did to her. It's almost like car rape (if there is such a thing). It is exactly that - Car Rape. And that feeling has been taxing on me more so now that it's back than before when it was gone... My car was just raped by some undeserving scum.Oh well, I'm glad to have her back, and I did take a few items from the car to give to the detective. Although I feel as though they take car thievery very lightly in Huntington Beach because it's so common. July 11, 200519 yr comment_130223 If I may I would like to inform all that my 1973 S30 was stolen Saturday night. It was stolen from the corner of 6th and Orange in Huntington Beach, SoCal. It was silver and I had recently installed the fender mounted mirrors. If anyone hears anthing or notices a new owner or new parts supplier be suspect for me and when all seems well get the best deal you can.Sometimes it hurts a great deal to think about it, and the first night I hopped on the classifieds to get ideas for new cars I was beginning to long for it like never before. It's really an amazing thing how when you work on and tune and care for a car it feels as though it becomes part of you. I hope this sort of thing never happens to any of you. If only I could just get the body back in one solid piece; I would never let her go. Thats scary $^!# man. I work and go to school in huntington beach. I'm there most of my day. Damn and i was actually thinking of taking my car to school sometimes when it was to be finished. I live in costa mesa so i'll keep an eye out for it. its in the area of HB :disappoin Someone said that z cars are easy to steal. What have people done here to protect they're cars? What kind of alarm/sequirty systems do u guys have? i'm scared for my z..... thank god it cant be moved right now.....not even close! :paranoid: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/15793-stolen-z/?&page=3#findComment-130223 Share on other sites

July 11, 200519 yr comment_130229 I had a friend with an old Datsun pickup in Seattle who was always getting it stolen. The first time the truck was missing for six months before he got it back. The second time it was gone something like nine months. It was always found in pretty good shape, but obviously was not high on the Seattle police's priorities because it was obvious the thieves used it like they owned it. These old trucks, like our Zs are far too easily stolen, especially when one Datsun key can fit many Datsun doors and ignitions.
