I just bought a 1976 280z for $500 knowing that it had some rust. I took it in to the welding shop to get it all welded up and when i took it in they found that the front left frame rail is completely shot to the point that he said it would not be worth repairing unless i could find a whole new frame rail for him to weld in. Does anyone know where i can find a frame rail. i would have to scrap the car just because i cannot find one. Please help.

if it's just the part below the floorpan, zedd findings has a full kit available. if it's the entire rail of the car, looks like you're in for some major welding...

Yes, that guy is selling those every month or so on eBay. I don't know if he can't sell the ones he has or if he's making them to sell.

Looks like they're making them. Notice it says longer ones like the 280Z, not a direct copy of the 240/60 rails.

yeah, it is not just the floor support. it is actually the portion of the rail under the hood that supports the engine crossmenber which is rotted out.

Just had the ebay rails installed last fall. They are longer and heavier gauge

than the stock 240 rails. Well worth the price.

I don't actually need that part of the frame rail. Actually, i need the furthest front portion of the left frame rail. The rail is rotted out underneath the suspension mount/ engine crossmber. I am in dire need of this part sort of in a hurry, so if anyone has any idea of where i can get this part i would greatly appreciate it.
