Roller coaster of emotions today

Interesting day all around i'd say. A day off of work was a nice :) way to start. Being pulled over on the bike (ZX-9R Ninja) on the way for a haircut was a mid-morning disaster. After nearly being squashed by an SC400 who decided to run the corner way wide and into my lane :finger: , I accelerated past and out of harm's way onto the highway only to see the red and blues :( in the rear view. After hearing of my harrowing experience the Good Cop decided to let me off. I thanked him and was on my way.

To hell in a hand basket. The evening started out with a ride to a friends and back. One block away from my house I make a split second decision to take that great corner by the golf course and hang a right to the highway. What the hell i'll open it up a bit :stupid: , right past the cop hidden behind a fence. I would never run, but the thought did cross my mind as I knew there was no way out of this one and it was going to hurt. I hit the corner I wanted to, just a lot slower and with a Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor in hot pursuit. I slowed and pulled off to the side and awaited my punishment. $483.00 worth. And a cop in a pissy mood on a pulpit.

In the end, I should have been in the damn Z this evening and not on the Z. Especially after dodging the bullet this morning on the bike with the Good Cop. I even had to move the truck out of the way to get to the bike this evening.

I have found myself riding like an idiot this year in traffic and something was bound to happen. Better a stiff fine than a limb or my life I suppose. I usually take it out on the Cascades in Northern Washington, but have been too busy on the weekends this year. Pent up right wrist frustration?

Anyhow, the bike was just posted for sale and I will be awaiting the buyer's cash to donate to the 260's new Tokico's, springs, and round top, and the list goes on.

I'll live another day and ride again, maybe when we get some tracks in Canada, or when I can control myself a bit better.

Better to rub off your frustration somewhere else than on your bike. I know how it is... I have a Hayabusa. That split second you think.... "I could just run"

Then your other side kicks in and reminds you that you can't outrun a radio frequency. :)

Anyway, frustrations are better kept off the bike. Ride the bike when you want to get out for some refreshment. There's a fine line.

I have those urges too, to run. I have a Yamaha R1.

The funny thing is my neighbor is the sherif for the county I live in. One day I rode past on my bike and he stopped me and we talked a bite. He then said "Those things wizz me off" as he gestured to the bike. I asked, "Why?" for obvious reasons.

He stated that they are too fast and accelerate too quickly for any cop car to catch, and they can even outrun a police helicopter (unless it's an Apache or some military-grade chopper). He went on to say that once you speed away they don't bother because they know if you wreck you will die, and if they chase you, you will only go faster and thus can create a traffic accident. I've never done it, but living in Southwest PA there is NO, and I mean NO coppers around. My township doesn't even have a police force IMO, they use the state troopers! I've speed numerous times in the Z, the bike, and other vehicles and have never gotten a speeding a ticket. Just lucky I guess.
