What do you think of white guage faces? 60 members have voted

  1. 1. What do you think of white guage faces?

    • There a great upgrade on the Z
    • I think they look okay but would get a spare set of guages to do it to first
    • They are too ricey for me stick to stock
    • The don't appeal to me but I wouldn't say they wouldn't put me off a potential Z

The black face gauges came from aviation. They had a black matte finish to prevent reflections of bright light. Sports & racing cars adopted it for the same reasons.

i'd love to know if there are any EL kits available. i mean, i dig the original look as much as anyone, but on a daily driver it's not very practical in the dark!

Actually, a gage is an instrument and guage refers to size. I know this from ordering pressure and temperature gages on a regular basis for the military. When refering to wire diameter and shotgun shells, guage wuold be appropriate.

Not to sound harsh or anything, white faced gages are for fast and furious wannabes in cheap civics with oversized wings which look like crap by the way and autozone shift knobs. A classic Z looks much better the way Datsun designed them in my opinion. I hope I didnt offend anyone...just my own humble opinion.

Can I ask, what does Ricey mean?

It comes from the saying "rice grinder" or "rice burner" hints the name ricer or ricey, you know the little honda civics, and all of the other little four cylinder cars out there that have sh*t loads of mods. put on them, usually intaling a larger than life spoiler, nonfunctional hood/roof scoops, stupid lights on everything, and lets not forget about the tail pipe big enought to house a small country in it!!!!!
