and saw these flares at the bottom, that look quite similiar to the ol fairlady flares, anybody know if they would fit, or have seen/tried them from meridian motorsport before, i don't have a drivable Z to just drop by and see if they will work on the car or not....

Interesting idea but be careful, flares for the Z30 are unique, see particularly how the front ones roll over the guard at the top, refer pic below.
