Is a requirement that if you work at a dealer parts counter, you must be surly, unhelpful and generally miserable? I swear, I have yet to meet one that will even crack the faintest of smiles.

Well, they are kinda busy.

I personally don't care if they smile or not (I'm not there to make friends), but I do get annoyed when they act like it's a bother to sell parts for older cars, even though I go armed with the Part Numbers and reference to the fiche page the part is found on.

That's another reason I miss Chloe.

They don't smile because they think you are going to give them a rough time, like most customers do. They are really busy and are usually multi-tasking more things than any human should, which doesn't allow them to show human emotions.
