Whilst reading the Cars Guide in Friday's Herald Sun, I came across some information that may interest some people. Whilst also researching this a bit further, I came across information on the NDSOC website.

Next Saturday (28th May) there is the Nissan/Datsun Test and tune day at Heathcote.

Info can be found here:

Myself and S130 will be heading up to Heathcote for the drags. Albeit not in my 240z, as shes not ready yet :( . However I'll be happy to take the R32 skyline for a rip up! May see some of you there!

I remember Keir Wilsons GTR ran a best of 8.79 (Think thats correct)

Can't believe the power that thing had, blew my mind! It had room for more improvement. That GTR is destined for 7's no worries.

Yea that thing was bluddy fast at the top end 160mph

The fastest 240z that i can remember was a 12.37 that was a turbo one, looked very rough but went like a bat outa hell

fasted n/a 240z was daniels with a 13.97@100mph

the red 240z with the gnose and 2.6 twin turbo GTR engine did a mid 12 from memory, apparenty his best time at calder park is a 11.87

and craigs 7litre v8 260 2+2 ran well with a 12.93

Great day, luckly the ran stayed away, the world is that this is going to become a regular event on the NSDOC calader to look out for it next year

The 240Z that ran 12.37 had an L28 with a GT35 turbo. It just looked as if he built up the engine and just found any old body to put it in. It was also a single spinner so that makes the time even more impressive.

Gavin Armstrong (surname correct?) ran his 260 that some of you may remember from Nationals with the silver paintjob with the stripes and the number '551'. He ran a best time of about 14.5 sec.

There was also a few Datto 1600 wagons running CA18's or SR20 turbo's that were consistenly running in the 13's. They were very impressive. One 1600 sedan even had what sounded like a big block V8 in it that must have been crammed into the engine bay.

Unfortunatley though, Ripper didnt run his R32 so I cant tell you how fast that went. Hopefully he will run it one day when he gets the balls.

Hey guys,

The tard with the old-bodied 240Z and L28/GT35R would be me. :) Oh and the body isn't that old! :P My best time was a 12.83 @ 115 I believe. Was pretty happy with that, the MPH indicating its making some decent power (on a measely 11psi).

I also think I saw sinisha (RB26 240Z) do an 11.9, but I don't remember the MPH. :( An NDSOC dyno day a while back it made 286rwkw, damn that thing moves!

This was my first time out on the strip, and the 12.83 pass was my second pass ever, the first pass I had a passenger.

Dave,

It was good to see an L powered Zed running onto the 12's. Your setup and times are very impressive. Hopefully one day there are a few more L engines running times into the 12's and 13's.
