LOL...

I can just see it now...

"Uh lady, you need help with that flat?"

"Yes"

"Uh, let me go get my jack! Oh and can you still get your spare out, lady!"

....man, that sounds like boarder-line insane man. Like go back into the woods and live...heh.

That's really arrogant if you think ALL ladies need help to change a tire. I know of some that do they're own engine work & brake jobs, so by the time you show up with your jack, they probably have the tire off and ready to toss on the spare. You'd be lucky to just finish the job while the lady cleans her hands with some waterless, medicated hand-cleaner.

This is the new millenium, you know. Get with it. You can even do what Carl wants to do- have a beer and watch. I imagine you see ladies in CA on the park or beach in the bikini tops & shorts waxing & buffing the paint.

thx

Being a former Boy Scout, it's hard to really do it but I'm thinking of just leaving out the spare and jack on my Z.

I plan to use it for weekend trips and maybe some autocross. The spare would barely get by in a pinch and it's extra weight taking up extra space.

Do most of you keep the spare or just leave it out?

Don't worry my friend, I'm an eagle scout and I don't have a spare!! "Always be prepared" to call a tow truck!!

Wow, didn't think so many people would drive around without a spare. I'm going to invest in one of those "patch kits" I think. Oh and put the jack back in my car!!

Is there any alternative to a "patch kit"? Space-saver wheel, but I dont think they're available new are they?

arrogant?

Man, I don't care what you say...as a courtesy, I'm one of those guys who always opens the door for a lady, and always let them out of the elevator first....its those ladies who don't mind at all a man stopping to ask if they need any help on the side of the road---and it has nothing to do with 'trying to score or whatever' its what a gentleman does...even if they say they don't need your help (which most of the time is true, cause they just called AAA or whatever) but it really is the gentleman thought that counts.

Tomohawk, let me guess, you're an ohio state fan, right? heh.

I was just attempting humor. In reality, my philosophy is that I stop and help any women with no ulterior motive and hope that if my wife or daughters are in the same position, someone like me will stop and help.

And to be honest, with my looks, I'm non-treatening and have no chance of "getting luckiy." My wife never worries about where I am. If I was chasing women, I couldn't catch any. If I'm out driving to fast, the insurance is worth mor than I am.

no mean words meant at all; just stating my ipin...

I do carry my spare and jack / along with about 10lbs of tools in my cubby holes....like a boy scout....

I have never gotten a flat, other than a slow leaker that was easy to get to the repair shop driving it....
