For the sake of pricing it, no bolt on bits at all, just the bare shell in very good condition. Floors have been pro repaired, eyerything else is excellent, straight, no rust.

Need to sell it to gain space for the next project, not a fire sale but it has to go. So, whats it worth, to sell it I need a firm price?

If it is just the shell, with no bits attached (buyer has to source "everything/anything that attaches to the shell") I'd say its only worth a couple of hundred dollars (US). You can buy parts cars that aren't in too bad of shape here for $500 and they have an engine, trans, diff, and many, many other usable parts.

This is not an easy one as the value will, to a degree, vary according to the need and location of the prospective purchaser.

About 20 years ago I thought I got a good deal when I was able to purchase a P510 shell for AUS$400 (approximately US$310) that was immaculate, straight, seam welded, gusseted, and absolutely no rust.

If I was in your area I would be thinking of AUS$500-$1200 for a 240Z shell in extremely good condition with its original production plates.

As Bambikiller has said, the bolt ons are able to be purchased from some of the lesser bodied cars on the Australian market for AUS$1500-2500.

A major part of the restoration cost is in the preparation of the foundation body shell. Getting something that needs no work would be a significant cost saving for anyone thinking of getting involved in a restoration project.

Not trying to boost the value of what I've got, but in the last year or so used bits like struts that I've wanted to buy have got harder to find and more expensive.

Talking to a bloke who did Targa Tasmania in his S30 and apparently four of them ran off the road sustaining damage. So most of us keen ones are probably getting a spare set of suspension components at least just in case.

But my shell must go, need the under cover space for the next project.

well i tell you if you were in perth with a shell with no rust for sale for 500 i'd take it today. i suggest you look at the cost of doing the repairs for rust and then judge accordingly.

I think that shell as a bare tub would have to be worth at least 1000-1500 dollars the way the Z market is over here, crikey if I spend 1000 on my shell (which I already have ) and its not anywhere near as tidy as that. But then mine is matching numbers and bare metal etc etc. But for someone who damaged their Z or a racer who knows they will damage their Z it would have to be worth a reasonable amount.
