OK as a comparison a complete car minus seats, engine and transmission, had all rust repaired (not that there was much to begin with), new floors.

Had all glass, dash, suspension wheels etc. Really just needed an engine, gearbox and seats and it was good to go.

It was sold for $2500, I believe (at least thats how much it was offered to me for), and is now getting an RB25DET transplant.

Whoever buys it has to take into concideration how much would all the bits cost to make that into a complete car again.

But if they had a wrecked 240z to salvage all the bits from....

if it were on some sort of wheels (ie a roller with diff, struts and steering) i would pay up to $2k for it.

a good 240Z shell is hard to come by - let a lone one PROFESSIONALLY reparied.

Just clarifying this, but its actually a tub as opposed to being a shell isnt it, whoever ends up with it would need to add all their doors and other bolt off panels? If its got all the bolt on panels I agree with pro, but without them I think that your price is a bit high.

Having had a look at the photos, I am now thinking that the shell is easily worth $1000 and should probably fetch a higher price given that you are not in fire sale mode.

However, if I were in your shoes I think I would be exploring every possibility of being able to retain the shell for a possible future need. As 240C says, good shells of that vintage are not commonly available.

Keep us all posted on your intentions.

In the early 90's A guy had 7 or 8 shells repaired and stored in a place on Marigold street Revesby (Sydney Australia). The guy had a sliding price scale then with the lowest being AU $400 to AU $3000 for a really good shell with a serial under 20. That was then for my money a shell in good repair with minimal rust and a full set of matching tags even a 5/71 shell with a 1/2 and 1/2 build has to be worth AU $1000.

By the way what is the body serial.

good luck

I would really like to come and have a geezer at it, see if we could work something out, I have a shed with a Zed shaped hole that needs filling.

Would look pretty next to my red one.

Decided, finally, to put a price on it, $1250.00. Thats bare, no bolt on bits like guards, Xmembers etc. Price is firm at the moment, if it doesn't sell it will be reduced then. Will do some decent pics of it and put them on my or the clubs web site in a couple of days time, sprints are on tomorrow :)

The clubs ads site is worth a look, here
