on my windshied there's two minute chips. one has been repaired by P O and the other isn't. it hasn't started to crack yet. the repair shop will fix it for $90 but can't guarantee it won't crack during the prosses of fixing.? is since my car is stored in heated garage will that keep it from cracking or should i get the fix.( my experience is that cracks get worse in cold weather)

I've never used one but have you considered one of the do-it-yourself kits? I wouldn't be surprised if the repair shop used the same stuff.

vibration is another big reason that cracks develop and enlarge from a small chip, and you can't avoid the vibration. (Unless the car sits in your heated garage for the entire rest of it's life, but you didn't buy it to just look at it, did you?)

anyone have recomendations for repairing a dime pin head sized stone chip in my windshield. i've heard so many horror stories from people about safelite. don't think i need a new windshield and would prefer not to replace it yet. any suggestions would be appreciated. oklahoma auto glass

Yes, get it fixed before you hit a bump one day and it's too late. I've used the diy kits before with mixed results. One good, one not as good, but still not bad. The problem is this is a one time shot. If you do it and it doesn't work a pro can't fix your work because the resin you did get in the crack stops his from going in.

Good luck!

Best,

Bob
