Posted May 26, 200519 yr comment_125208 My new KONIG 15x7 rims with COOPER COBRA RADIAL G/T 225-50-15. I had placed an order with MSA $630 shipped but the rims are on backorder and they have a long list of buyers and could give me no ship date. I cancelled the order and ordered them from TYLER ggtyler@yahoo.com $545 shipped. They are silver with polished lip and they look great..... A few thoughts..... They came without lug nuts so I got them at my tire shop, standard 12x1.25m. The KONIG supplied center caps will not fit the front dust cover so I had a set of larger caps with the Z center that I had for my 72 240Z and with some grinding they fit...DAMN. The front tires rubbed on my MSA type 3 air dam so with a little grinding on the rear lip of the air dam that was fixed. I also notice with the wider tire the steering is much easier..... May 31, 200519 yr comment_125782 along the same lines, is anyone interested in a group buy for 16x8s?http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=101587No price listed yet, but apparently if 30 sets are preordered, konig can make the rewinds in 16x8, which would be very awesome. the 15x7" wheels are 13.3lbs each, which is pretty good, and they look great (for konig, anyway). Anyone interested in 16x8 wheels like that? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16040-konig-rewinds/#findComment-125782 Share on other sites

June 1, 200519 yr comment_125815 well, 16x8 konigs don't exist, so it'd be difficult to find pictures of them online. See pics above, and enlarge diameter by 1" Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16040-konig-rewinds/#findComment-125815 Share on other sites

June 1, 200519 yr Author comment_125897 I've now upgraded the front brakes to the Toyota 4x4 calipers with much improved braking.... BTW the center cap and emblems I used are from MSA and the front caps require more grinding then the rear ones do...... June 2, 200519 yr comment_125967 Larry:Any chance you could post a picture of the grinding that needed to be done on those caps to make them fit? I have a set of Konigs (Rewinds) and will need to get some center caps to fit. Thanks in advance,Carl Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16040-konig-rewinds/#findComment-125967 Share on other sites
June 2, 200519 yr Author comment_125973 Well...... It's too late for pics so let me see if I can explain it. I was so DAMN mad at this that I forgot to take pics. The reason that I can't take them now is that I used some liquid weld to make sure they stayed on. I ground on the inside of the cap tabs and then bent the ends out while they were hot so they would catch on the wheel and then put the weld on the outside of the tab to secure the cap with the wheel. I hope this makes sense... :nervous: Just remember the front caps require more grinding then the rear caps do on accont of the tight fit between the front spindle caps and the wheel.... June 2, 200519 yr comment_125979 Ugh, so they are permanently stuck on the wheels? I'm looking to avoid doing that, but thanks anyway for the description. Seems that would make replacing tires or having new tires balanced on the wheels a major problem without sacrificing the caps and starting all over again. June 2, 200519 yr Author comment_125991 Let me say this ...It's a crap shoot. Do as I outlined and skip the glue and loose a cap and drive around with missing cap/caps and have to reorder new ones or do it the way I explained..... Now you know why I was "Mad As Hell" and I'm not going to use the original ones by hammering on the spindle cap as I have read elsewhere....
