June 3, 200519 yr comment_126225 Not to throw a wrench into all of this or anything but the Japanese Z horn pad for the 70-3 is shaped just like the ours but instead of having it say "datsun" it just says "Z" and has the addition of a horn logo below that. I should take a picture of the one in my car for all to see.-e Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16075-240z-260z-280z-horn-pad-differences/?&page=2#findComment-126225 Share on other sites
June 3, 200519 yr comment_126227 I didn't know that you had a home-market horn button Eric. That is awesome. I would love to add that to my Compe steering wheel. -Ben Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16075-240z-260z-280z-horn-pad-differences/?&page=2#findComment-126227 Share on other sites
June 3, 200519 yr comment_126228 I asked nicely and it was just given to me...They sure looked at me like I was crazy when I went into their shop to buy a set of new taillights and the horn pad...-e Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16075-240z-260z-280z-horn-pad-differences/?&page=2#findComment-126228 Share on other sites
June 3, 200519 yr comment_126229 Kind of like the 432 piston picture to the left of my posts... also just given to me but at another shop and i didn't even ask for it... it was a 510 shop and i brought a 510 enthusiast and just hung back telling the owner i had an S30 which prompted the unsolicited gift. -e Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16075-240z-260z-280z-horn-pad-differences/?&page=2#findComment-126229 Share on other sites

June 3, 200519 yr comment_126250 Ok no problem will do so tonight or tomorrow. ... Never mind I found a pic someone snapped of my interior over two years ago... it's a little cleaner now... those yellow wires were left over from some half-arse installation the PO had done... Anyways notice the horn button. Same shape as our 70-3 "Datsun" ones but with a "Z" instead like the later US ones and a horn logo as well... Oh and also visible is my only genuine KPGC10 part... the 5spd shift knob. New & only 6500yen means I couldn't resist. -e Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16075-240z-260z-280z-horn-pad-differences/?&page=2#findComment-126250 Share on other sites

June 3, 200519 yr comment_126264 I have a 1970 240 and want a real new dash not a cover. Are these available anywhere? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16075-240z-260z-280z-horn-pad-differences/?&page=2#findComment-126264 Share on other sites
August 18, 200519 yr comment_134698 I have examples of all three, let me get my camera, and do a little digging...WillPs, the one pictured with the datsun logo is from a 74-76, the 70-73 used the same logo, but the pad was smaller-let me post a picture.WillI have the left most pad. Too bad you can't find one with the inner plastic ring intact.
