We will have to see if HS30-H (Alan) saw any news in the UK about this Indy race! I Imagine that the winner of this race didn't get many accolades either.

F1 is such a political farce, Ferrari (Bernie's defactor corporate team) was the lone holdout to a rational compromise. Why? Because they were sure to get results against what remained of the grid.

The FIA could have let Michelin bring in different tires and fore those teams to start from the pits, or given a time penality.

Most of all, Bernie could have been a LEADER who cares after the check clears!

There were several options that could have been utilized to ensure a real race occured. Thanks to the FIA and Ferrari, none of them were utilized.

My favorite UK based news source for F1 information is http://www.planet-f1.com/ although there are many other sources.

Yeah, we saw it all unfolding in front of us on live terrestrial TV here in the UK. With the time difference between the USA and UK, it was broadcast at a really nice time. I must say, ITV F1 commentator Martin Brundle was superb - a shining beacon of common sense in a sea of stupidity.

Sad that the only race held at the RCoTW to be covered live on UK terrestrial TV ended up as such a farce.

I should imagine that F1 will not be going back to the Brickyard in 2006. That won't be such a pity in itself ( the most commonly-used expression of the infield section at Indy has been "Mickey Mouse" ) but it will be a great shame if F1 doesn't go back to the USA and race at a more suitable circuit in 2006 and beyond.

Predictions for 2006:

Max Mosley to go. Michelin to go. Caesar's Palace parking lot to be resurfaced.

I feel bad for the fans. I went in 2003 and it was not cheap. $150 for the ticket. $300 for the hotel. $80 for gas. $100 for food. $100 in souvenirs. A ticket refund would only scratch the surface. IMO they will be lucky if they sold as many tickets for next year, if there is a next year.

Does anyone remember how truely horrible the track and races were when F1 raced at Caesar's Palace parking lot in Las Vegas back in the early 1980's? I hope a different venue can be found.

PS, Bye Bye Max, don't let the door hit you in the arse.
