May 31, 200519 yr comment_125714 I have never heard of that designation for an L6 cylinder head. Are you sure? Exactly where are you seeing this on the head? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16085-o5l-head/#findComment-125714 Share on other sites

May 31, 200519 yr comment_125722 Think it might be a skyline head. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16085-o5l-head/#findComment-125722 Share on other sites
December 2, 200519 yr comment_147825 Its definitely a skyline head - I have one and its from a 1980 skyline 2000L20-ET 1998cc OHC 6 cylinder, EFI, turbo 144hp Skyline (Japan only).I have a spare engine with it on. I've been researching hard and it appears that it was fitted to Aust and NZ skylines.I haven't taken the head off to have a look at it yet. Possibly its pre unleaded gas and therefore doesn't have the hardened valve seats. I bought the engine with a view to turboing my 2litre zx, which has a Y20 head on it. Unfortunately both these setups are pretty obscure and I've been having trouble getting a full description of the piston setups etc. hope someone can help. I'm going to pull the skyline head off so maybe I'll have to post some pix. December 2, 200519 yr comment_147843 what's the difference between the skyline head and the stock Z head? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16085-o5l-head/#findComment-147843 Share on other sites
December 2, 200519 yr comment_147845 Haven't seen it in person, but I understand that the 2L turbo head has TINY ports. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16085-o5l-head/#findComment-147845 Share on other sites
December 3, 200519 yr comment_147950 I have one here. It's off a L20ET. Yes, the ports are tiny, but the walls are quite thick. You can port them out and make 350rwhp, but stock rod failure is immenent. They have hardened seats as they are an unleaded motor. It was never fitted to Aust skylines, only 2nd hand motors or in low production imports Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16085-o5l-head/#findComment-147950 Share on other sites
