hi everyone,

i am in the process at the moment of getting another set of keys made for my dad, only problem is no one seems to sell the key for the aerial. Its the standard aerial (as far as i am aware) on a '77 english 260z. does anybody know where i should be able to get one? i am in perth.

240/260z's had a semi auto power antenna which doesnt have a lock down feature. It sounds like you have an aftermarket antenna. Remove the inner hatch rear plastic trim panel for a look.

Its definately a key for a lock down type antenna, but that antenna, if fitted to the car, isnt the original one. As I mentioned prior the z car had a power antenna which is actuated by a switch on the side of the original radio.

Looking at your keyring, the only original key you have there is the ignition key, which is the one at the back of the ring when looking at the first pic.

thanks for the help, i guess i'll have to keep looking. i kinda guessed that the keys wern't original when the locksmith told me it was a hyundai key!! just another altered part like the rest i've found so far, annoying but inevitable with the previous owner being what he is, but we wont go there.

My old 240z (which i sold in 1991) had the exact same antenna key.

ok, so you think nissan might sell them? or should i try and fabricate something?

I made one up out of a flat piece of metal using a file, for a spare years ago.

yeah i spoke to dad and he suggested a similar thing.
