L20B in a 240Z?

Hello, first I know...I know this is a Datsun forum so ignore my BMW name : )

I cut my teeth in the machine shop on Datsuns in the late 80's and early 90's so I have some exp. with Z's and Dimes but its been a while now so I have a few questions for all you experts.

I have had the urge to build a 71 Z with a L20B for a nice little daily driver. Trust me I have had my share of Horsepower and Handling so now I just want classic looks and efficiency. So please don’t flame me with the "Why not a FJ or SR or....?" reply's : )

So to the question has anyone done this swap or knows of someone with good documentation on this. Or possibly a kit for this swap, any help would be appreciated.

Also does anyone remember where the SU carb came from in the old draw through turbo kits (KKK)? I was thinking of fabricating a tubular intake using a single large SU or a TB injector set up? I know kind of odd but I loved the look of "Coiled snakes" on my old draw through turbo Z from college : )

Thanks for your time.

I had thought about that but from what I have been told is that there is not much difference between the two in mpg?

Besides I realy like the look of all that extra space with the motor sitting back in the compartment plus the less weight and parts thing : )

I wonder if anyone out there would trade a good complete L20B for a stock L24/L28 that seem to be in most cars I am looking at now?

But thanks for the input.

I have a good complete L20B and could use an L28. Now you have to come to australia to do the swap. :D

Interesting idea though. I'd be tempted to go the L20A idea though. I don't know that the work required to get the L20B in there would be worth it. Let us know what you end up doing!
