Yes, they all have that plate. The "Z" logo is special also.

from my records the resto zed last march on ebay was a 72 from wrightsville north carolina. it had 109 k met reserve at about $25k and sold for $31,300.i don't ever remember this one from oaklahoma.

A real leather interior is unlikely. I think the only people who know that the interior isn't leather are us.

I think you are spot on Chris. My C10 was retrimmed a few years ago in , what appears to be the correct vinyl. People often ask (and sometimes tell me!)"Is it leather?", I suspect only because it is still nice and supple, and a quality job done with later technology upholstery vinyls.

You're putting a crazy amount of work into that project. Perhaps you belong on the "Group W" bench.

It's funny how we, me included, like to pick apart these eBay cars. The higher the price the worse we get. It really does look like a nice car although I'd never buy a car like that without seeing it in person.

Tip of the hat to Arlo. I AM putting a lot of effort into it. Still shooting for a convention release. Its a great story. Nissan USA mounted a huge advertising campaign aimed at corporate image and brand identity. It started with the Dream Garage / Enjoy the Ride advertising and grew into the Z-Store concept. The activities of the Z car community had a lot to do with it. The Vintage Zs are the result. About a quarter of them have been collected outside the country. They dipped in price initially, but seem to have come back in value to a little over the sales price. I think they are going up in value and are being snatched up by collectors and squirreled away. There was a converstaion some time ago about whether VZs are worth more or less than an original or stock restoration. I may venture into that debate, but most agree that the VZs are in a unique category - and indeed they are! I think when you realize what Nissan was trying to do, you begin to understand and appreciate the unique qualities. They typically have the same service problems regular Z cars have. The Vintage Z program did not resolve the rust issues, for instance. Most of the complaints I hear have to do with paint and bodywork issues. I have pictures of about 30 of them and documented serial numbers of about half. Thanks go out to you, Mike, and a bunch of others who have sent information to me. Joseph, Alan, Hans, Carl, Vicky, Jim to name a few. I have literature from England to Japan and a couple of Z-Store merchandise items from eBay. Our gallery here has photos from the introduction event. The program was a big splash.

Thanks for the acknowledgement. I do believe that this particular car was first advertised back in March on www.zcar.com classifieds section; I dont recall it having been on ebay prior.

I am assuming it didnt sell at this time and the owner has had to go to a broker and ebay to attempt the sale (or to advertise it more widely).

i noticed this one doesn't have the tow hooks.

I noticed the same orange Nissan restoration program car is back on the auction block. However, the seller’s ID is slightly different and location is now in San Luis Obispo, California as opposed to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I live an hour away from San Luis, and it sure doesn’t look anything like that.

Just to be safe, I reported this issue to ebay.

noticed a pull handle on the driver door( not the arm rest) this is the first one i've seen on the driver side. i have one on the passenger side but not on the driver side. maybe the son lives in cali and had it transported there.

The seller owns the auction company that had it for sale in OK.. The seller lives in California the car is still listed as being in OK

He has also corrected many of the mistakes in the first ad.. This car should sell...

For a time, Nissan shipped the Left door panels that were intended for the Right Hand Drive cars... This was an error on their part.. but these seem to have found their way into some of the Vintage Zs; I'd guess because the program schedules did not allow them to wait on replacements.

For the record, my 71 240Z has a door pull on the driver's side, at least it did until I removed the entire inside trim of both doors to repair the rust...
