Posted June 7, 200519 yr comment_126593 I'm considering adding a Deck Lid Spoiler to my 73 240Z to top off my ZG conversion. Can anyone offer any recommendations as to whether I should go with the one vs 3 piece designs in regards to fit, form and function and asthetics.thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16187-240z-deck-lid-spoiler/ Share on other sites
June 7, 200519 yr comment_126604 I would recommend the one piece version as I feel that it looks better and it is more traditional. Also, the one piece version was a factory option. The three piece spoiler that I am thinking of was not. I am pretty sure that the spoilers on Fairlady Z's and export Z's came either painted body color or gunmetal grey (matching the tail light panel). I am looking for one of these spoiler's for my car and I am going to paint it gunmetal grey with a gloss coat as I believe that is as close to original as I can come. Good luck with your ZG coversion and keep us posted on your progress. -Ben Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16187-240z-deck-lid-spoiler/#findComment-126604 Share on other sites

June 7, 200519 yr comment_126627 Part number 98100-E8276 is a three piece FRP spoiler and appears first in my 1973 sports option catalog. With some recognition of conjecture, I suspect that this spoiler was part of the racing homoligation equipment. That means, in my mind, that a three piece spoiler would be most correctest for a ZG nose application with a racing styling bias including the 62605-N3020 front spook. Short of all that, I think that if you go with Ben's suggestion, you'll be fine. August 12, 200519 yr comment_134007 I got that from the HP Books "How to modify Datsun engines & chassis - 510, 610, 240Z" by Bill Fischer & Bob Waar 1973 ISBN #0-912656-09-3 . I think it's out of print but you might scour the used bookstores in your area, that's how I found mine...it's full of good common sense, practical concepts for applications to the street or racing, etc. Very helpful with plotting Z upgrades...:beard: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16187-240z-deck-lid-spoiler/#findComment-134007 Share on other sites
