June 8, 200519 yr comment_126797 Yet another serious thanks for the heads-up and the link. That makes 17 of the cars I have documented with VIN and photographs. First blue one. I'll have to study some of my other pictures and see if I can't date this baby with some of the "mystery" photos I have of Vintage Zs. This collection of photos includes a nice example of the lettering style used to stamp the reproduction paint code sticker. To the best of my knowledge (at least this is what I claim) the word "factory" was first published in Road & Track, June 1998, in an article; "Factory Resurrected" by Douglas Kott. By reading the one-page article, I can certainly understand how someone would get the impression that the Nissan "factory" restored these cars. Of course, we know that this is not the case. June 8, 200519 yr comment_126798 I didn't know CD Players were an option back in 1971. Must have been a dealer add on option. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16205-yet-another-factor-restored-240z/#findComment-126798 Share on other sites

June 10, 200519 yr comment_127001 Wonder why the $15,000 Z Factory Restoration on E Bay is not getting any action ??? Is $30,000 a fair price ???Nothing seems to move on EBay until the last 30 seconds of the auction.Today... yes, if the car has been well taken care of... it will bring $30K if the right buyer finds it.FWIW,CarlCarl BeckClearwater, FL USANow 15 of the original 39 Listed on the Vintage Z Registerhttp://zhome.com/IZCC/ZRegisters/VintageZ.htm Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16205-yet-another-factor-restored-240z/#findComment-127001 Share on other sites

June 10, 200519 yr comment_127006 Just an observation and maybe an obvious one at that. I think the people who bought these cars from the Nissan program were actually quite smart. You get a brand new or better than new Z sure you pay a premium but you also own a unique piece of history not only that though you also buy something that has and will hold it's value no other car sold as "new" can claim the same thing. FWIW if i was living in the US and had the cash a Nissan US restored Z would be excellent value for money .
