How big a project is this swap. I'm a Porsche guy who just got hit hard with the Z bug. I have a w/o a drivetrain from a 71. I have a friend who will sell me an 82 turbo motor, tranny, AFM, ECU and wiring harness with only 80,000 miles on it and it still runs great.

What kind of project am I getting myself into. Please advise, I'm trying to learn a new hobby here that I think will be more fun with the people I come in contact with than those I've delt with for the last few years.

Thanks

James,

I'm doing the same swap right now only I'm using an 83 ZXT. The only things that are not a bolt in are 1) wiring the ECM, 2) custom drive shaft, 3) console will not fit correctly if you are using a T5 trans, 4) trans mount will have to be modified if you use a T5 trans, and 5) a spacer is needed to make the short later fulcrum work on the 71's throttle linkage mount. Do you have any specific questions?

Joe
