June 12, 200519 yr comment_127180 I installed 2 K&N fuel filters: one before the pump and one under the hood. Easy installation and they don't need replacement cores. Just pinch off the fuel lines, unscrew and wash out plates. They however are more costly than other types but definitely worth the extra $$$. Just my 2 cents. June 12, 200519 yr Author comment_127195 TomaHawk,I sent off an email to the guys yesterday asking for a part number breakdown of the unit, but as of this morning I have not received a reply yet. I posted a url to their website in reply #6 in this thread. From what I see on their website it runs about $95.00-$100.00 for the unit. By the way you can get the Napa filter (#3271) at Napa for approx. $2.49 each. Have not checked out sources for the other filter P/N's yet...Looks like the AC Delco filter will probably be pretty easy to locate...webdawg1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16235-alternate-fuel-filter/?&page=2#findComment-127195 Share on other sites

June 12, 200519 yr comment_127201 Simple & effective solution... a FRAM G-3 inline fuel filter. Already has 3/8" inlet & outlets... it is clear so you can see the rust.patricles that may gather. The best part... costs about $4 at a local Wal-mart. I installed one about 6" away from my tank's pickup connection.... was a cinch to install. Once I see it needs changing, it'll be cheap & simple to replace. Also is effective at keeping the fuel pump inlet screen clear.Good luck.Steve Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16235-alternate-fuel-filter/?&page=2#findComment-127201 Share on other sites

June 14, 200519 yr Author comment_127422 GunnerRob,Did some more searching on the web and found the P/N for the AC Delco filterbase & metal filter cover. P/N: ACDelco GF62P I found it listed at http://www.rockauto.com after doing a search on "Google" for $32.79 each. I'm pretty sure that's without a filter in it, but you can get those just about anywhere. (I.E. Napa, Local parts house....etc) See previous posts for filter P/N's.webdawg1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16235-alternate-fuel-filter/?&page=2#findComment-127422 Share on other sites

June 15, 200519 yr Author comment_127544 TomoHawk,If you go to the following url: http://www.rockauto.comDo a search on the search tab with the following search term: GF62PShould run about $32.79 each. That sure beats the hell out of that other price I found....Hello....$95.00-$100.00 That's if you want one that is....Not trying to push it on you or anything like that, Just trying to put out some general info in case anyone else decides they want to go that route...sort of a pro-active approach....take care of it before it turns into a problem.webdawg1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16235-alternate-fuel-filter/?&page=2#findComment-127544 Share on other sites
