This is probably off topic, but there was a report on the T.V. News tonight about the M.G. car company closing down.

All major cities, mainly Sydney are holding auctions to sell off the latest models wich are expected to go for half price.

Why buy one when parts will be hard to get and probably cost the world not to mention trade in value.

Sorry state of affairs.

Rick.

MG will probably survive in some form or another as it'll be sold of separately from the main Rover group. For some reason MG is still a desirable badge, talk about living on past glories!

Alas at the end of the day both modern MGs and Rovers sucked big time and what's happened to the company is just economics. It's obviously a great shame for all the thousands of workers and supporting companies though and my sympathy goes out to them, unlike the b*st*rd directors who came out of the collapse a fair few million pounds better off.

Cheers,

Rob

What was Maybach? Were they a seperate entity before Mercedes Benz came a long? I really didn't mean to sound like a jerk with my correction on MINI. I was just trying to be helpful. I should have been nicer about it. I like your pun...I get it now.

Yair, you're right Mr C,

"Someone" will buy the name and sell cars under the brand name but they won't REALLY be M.G's will they.

I feel for the owners of Classic M.G's. How embarrassing !!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to meet up again with the bloke who turned his nose up at my "Precious" and said, "Oh, .... one of THEM !!".

Rick.

:devious: :devious:
