ZSaint Posted June 23, 2005 Share #13 Posted June 23, 2005 Great idea Derek! I do not know how people do this operation but I would like to hear this exhaust system. How about one of you computer genius-types putting this on the forum?
Hrududu Posted June 23, 2005 Share #14 Posted June 23, 2005 When you get a Flowmaster 40 series for the 280Z, do you need to order a special one that is smaller so it fits like the original, or do you just go for the standard one? If you get a special one, could someone give me a link to the one I should get for the Z? I am getting a new exhaust put in soon since mine has rusted through in a few spots and was looking into getting the Flowmaster muffler.
=Resurected280= Posted June 23, 2005 Author Share #15 Posted June 23, 2005 For any one watching this thread, there is a review of a dynomax super turbo muffler in the product reviews section of the site thats pretty informative.
Pennyman Posted July 27, 2005 Share #16 Posted July 27, 2005 Would you guys recommend putting the glasspack resonator before or after the catlytic converter on 280z's? Or does the 280z's displacement help diminish the "rice" sound with the 40 series? Is there a muffler I should get that doesn't require a glasspack to sounds "rumbly" and "muscley"?Thanks guys, hehe. THE73Z Posted August 9, 2005 Share #17 Posted August 9, 2005 This may be apples and oranges, but my 240Z came with an older exhuast modification that sounds really nice. There's a Y pipe up front followed by dual pipes through a glass pack on each side, mid ship. The two pipes exit, vertically stacked, in the stock location with no mufflers. It purrs like a kitten, is never loud, and sounds like a well tuned 60's European sports car. Plus, I don't think it very restrictive.Z
