Posted June 18, 200519 yr comment_127763 Hi, I'm new to this Zcar club. I'm not even sure if anyone will read this.Anyway, I own two 280ZX's both 1983's, silver and orangemist, They are coupes, manual and non-turbo. It seems like 90% of all Z- lovers like the 240, 260, and 280's. I like the 280ZX's the best. I know they are the heaviest and the slowest, but they are still my favorite. I'm sure there must be others like me out there. Thanks, Bill Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16290-new-member280zx-s/ Share on other sites

June 18, 200519 yr comment_127773 Hi Bill____Welcome to the site. You'll be surprised at how many people will read your posts. And no argument from me on the ZX issue. I own both Z's and ZX's. My daily driver is a 81 NA. It's a great driver and every bit as much fun to drive as the Z. July 23, 200519 yr comment_131689 Hi, Chris is the name, I just bought my second 280ZX home yesterday. The first one died a horrible death in the hands of a very EX-girlfriend. This will be my weekend ride until I get a bugs out of her, It's got a terrible whine in the diff that doesn't go awat until you turn the radio up. It's stock straight up standard, and in pretty good condition for a 26 year old car. It's been resprayed recently, a new roof liner installed, and a new recond motor put in 8 months ago! I'm the 3rd owner according to the log books, which have every cent spent on her recorded. I will be looking at replacing the wheels and tyres soon to improve the ride and handling, it's got the equilivant of bicycle tyres on it now! Cheers. July 24, 200519 yr comment_131728 I also have a daily driver 79 ZX. It has been my transportation as such for 16 years now.I do store it three months in the winter. It's a different car than my 240-Z for sure. But I love it dearly. July 25, 200519 yr comment_131924 Bill, Welcome to the club. A 280ZX is not a bad car at all. I recently drove my '81 back from Port St. Lucie, Fl. to D.C. in one sitting (950 miles) and I left with a full tank of gas and only had to stop twice on the way home. The only problem is in locating soft trim pieces from Nissan nowadays as they have decided not to support the model anymore (same can be said of the Z31). Having just parted out my '82 280ZX hardtop I can say that if left unchecked these Z cars will rust in places you can't imagine and watch out if you have rust where the rear suspension bolts to the unibody (behind the seats) as that usually sounds the death knell. Here are some pics of my '81: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16290-new-member280zx-s/#findComment-131924 Share on other sites
