I know you have redone your front end components mdbrandy which Is why I thought I'd call you LOL Input from anyone else is appreciated as well.

Well I was under my Z this evening and noticed that all my rubber boots are worn for my suspension ball joints and for the tie rod ends and some are leaking. I did read through my F.S.M. just to refresh my memory on a couple things. Shouldn't be too bad. My question is, Where did you get your ball joint puller??? I could get one from the tool guy where I work however he will want more $$$ for one just cause of the name  but if I have to get it from him then thats life :) Also when you get everything back togeather, did you have to take yours in to an alignment shop??? I don't have the equipment needed listed in the F.S.M at home to do the alignment unfortunately  Any pointers or heads up from any of you that have done this recently would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance guys.

You can get the ball joint / tie-rod end separators from Harbor Freight cheaply. Other Parts stores like Checker/Shucks/Kragen should also have them (though not as cheap).

Yes, your car will need an alignment after replacing the tie-rod ends (in particular) and balljoints.

Pointers?

Service/Replace the wheel bearings, brakes, brake lines, struts, and lower control arm and T/C bushings at the same time unless you are 100% sure they are in absolutely great condition.

Have a Haynes manual and/or Factory Service Manual to aid you in doing this work.

Take your time & do it right, once.

Enjoy the experience.

Thanks. Yep, I got my FSM. Have had it for a LONG time and has paid for itself many times

No, I inspected everything else under my Z and everything is good and sound. The suspension, brakes, bake hoses, bushings ect. is good. Just did all that stuff not too long ago (Ball Joints where good then). Only additional thing I will do since I got it all apart is probably install new wheel bearings and races If needed.

Thanks for the "Heads up" on places to purchase the puller. appreciate it.

Also about the alignment, I'll just take it too a shop like I've done before and they will have to align it since I don't have the equipment shown in the FSM at home to do it which kinda sucks :)

thanks again.

I've been on a lot less often lately (too busy at work) so I missed this thread. After doing the front end, I tore into the rear without getting it back on the road between. I intend to take it to a shop to align once everything is back together. Buying the equipment to do a good alignment is not cost effective unless your're a racer or something. You could get tools to set toe at a reasonable price I think, but making sure the other angles are OK requires more equipment from what I can see. I let the pro's do that.
