This is how NOT to act...

I just couldn't believe what I was seeing/hearing when I saw this, and I think it is something everyone should watch to see how NOT to behave....

http://www.filecabi.net/v.php?file=MichaelCrook.wmv

It's this guy on Hannity & Colmes that thinks the Military are all scumbags and wants them to die. He gets happy when troops die...I could only watch like a minute of it, but one of my Military buddies sent it to me...

Take care, and God Bless America and our Troops!

I have to disagree on one point. I don't think he is happy when troops die but maybe feels that they are stupid for joining the military for little pay, nevertheless I'm not defending his website or opinion. I think Colmes brought the focus to the right area. If this guy disagrees with the pay and benefits that the soldiers are getting, he should be fighting that battle with Congress. He shouldn't be degrading our troops, and calling them scumbags. However, I suspect there is more to this man's hate than pay and benefits. He clearly did not understand the big picture of how the troops are fighting for our freedom and way of life. He is the real moron, not the troops.

Bill, I don't agree with your statement. I didn't join the military, and it was for reasons you haven't mentioned. I think your brush is too broad.

I tried 2 browsers and 2 different sources for the same video and I still can't view it. How bout a synopsis?

Well, you certainly missed seeing a real MORON. As much as I dislike media news (Tabloid News) channels like FOX, I have to side with the broadcaters' disbelief on how scrambled this guys brain is.......no logic to his opinions! What a cry baby whimp this guy is. I hope he is not an indication of are youth today! Maybe if people did a little research about history, they would discover that not much has really changed in the overall sceme of things. I'm always surprised at people who comment about all the lives being lost in this middle east war......crap, you could take a body count of all the soilders lost in the current war and it woudn't even come close to the lives lost during only one day of WWII!

I never said i thought war was a good thing, but if it has to be done then we need brave hands to fight in it.

Let me ask you this. If you invited somebody into your home to eat your dinner and whatch your tv and he started calling you a scumbag and a moron, what would you do?

Dont take this the wrong way im not flaming just making conversation

Bill

Bill, I'm not sure why you think I implied that you think war is good. I was talking about your comment about kicking this guy out of the country and how he lacked the balls to join the military when he was young.

Maybe I lacked the balls too, but I had other circumstances that affected my decision at that time.

I don't know anyone who "likes" war...it is a neccessary evil that needs to be done to protect our way of life so that we, our children, their children, and those after them have the basic human rights that ALL deserve. I have not met anyone who joined the military to become rich. I served for 20 years proudly and am one of the luckiest guys around because I made it through my career without seeing combat. I think that name calling gets nowhere. As much as I disagree with the individual on the video, I feel sorry for him. It appears that he knows nothing of what he is talking about. He should be educated.

Necessary?? I wouldn't say that. Human rights come from how you were brought up - who said the world should operate our way? I'm not saying don't defend your country, I'm saying a lot of the time wars are fought for very different, less idealistic "king-and-country" reasons.

I have not met anyone who joined the military to become rich.

Sure, it's for protecting the women and children! No one's going to admit to joining to become rich - if they did they'd be about as stupid as that "Crook" guy! I know a few people who joined the military because it was "exciting" or "cool" - basically because they had no other options. In other words, to make money. In fact, the whole spin the Australian military has now with its advertising campaign (multi-million dollar, thankyouverymuch tax payers) is that joining the army is a career.

As much as I disagree with the individual on the video, I feel sorry for him. It appears that he knows nothing of what he is talking about. He should be educated.

Too right! I keep trying to find a substantial point in what he said, but there's nothing. He's obviously not only dumb but also messed up in the head. What's the bet something big happened close to him involving the military?? Maybe the dumb bully at school who always teased him went off to join the army and was successful, while his "dot com" business lost all his parent's money and now they've disowned him? :alien:

Disclaimer:

BTW just trying to throw a spanner in the mix - we can't all say how great America is and how 'stoopid' that guy is. As a member of the military you have my greatest respect. Just being a devil's advocate here :bunny:

Ahhh, .. Lachlan me young mate.

Would you believe that some blokes actually join the Army for patriotic reasons ????????? I did. I was a third generation soldier following my Father and Grandfather before him. Several of my old mates joined for the same reason........ Patriotism.

As for war, ....... no, it's not necessary (I doubt if Mr. Honycutt MEANT it that way). However, mankind being what it is, I would say that, for whatever the reason, it is inevitable.

Like Mr. Honeycutt, I too served 20 years, however my battallion went to Viet Nam in 65, operating as part of the American 173rd Airborne.

This richard cranium with the warped mind is typical of the soldier bashers of the Viet Nam era. What he needs is to spend some time with returned Veterans. He'll find that nobody hates war more than someone who has experienced it.

Bill,

I can understand your reaction, but he's entitled to his opinion mate. What he obviously doesn't take into account is that having the right to voice his opinion so openly was bought and paid for in the lives of men like those that he denigrates.

PITY HIM !!!!!!!

Rick.

Ahh sorry Rick my post was a little ambiguous but I changed it now - never did I mean no one joins the military for patriotic reasons. I'm just saying sometimes the reasons aren't so noble after all - I'm talking about the modern military here, back in your day (sorry to use that phrase!) I imagine it was a lot less political and a lot more respected. From what I see on the media and hear from my grandfather that was the case - would you agree???
