June 26, 200519 yr comment_128606 You could fix that with some time, welder, and sheetmetal. It would be a lot of work, but if the car was cheap enough, I would do it. It seems complete, so you wouldn't have to hunt much down for it. If you strip it down, and put it on a rotisserie you could fix all that rust pretty easily. If the price is right, go for it... June 26, 200519 yr comment_128608 I've been trying to buy this car for weeks and it's way over priced and he will not budge on his reserve!! He refuses to accept the fact that it's not worth what he wants. FYI: reserve is $1000He has also told me that there are a few missing parts (would not specify, but you can see the hatch vents are gone). Also note that it has the incorrect valve cover for this production date! This car is rusty from what he has told me and what can be seen in the pix. This car has also not been started on 8-10 years per the seller. I advised him that I paid $1500 for my running, driving, licensed, registered, titled Z which is a month older than his (i.e. lower VIN FWIW) and FAR less rust. He has yet to reply...and probably will not. I wouldn't pay more than $500 for this one personally. June 26, 200519 yr comment_128609 How much time are you willing to spend, how much money are you willing to spend, do you have the skills, do you have the equipment, do you have the patience and perservence required? This car is going to require all of the above if restoration is what you have in mind. From an economical stand point I personally don't think this car is worth the asking price. Even if you wanted it for parts only, you would be hard pressed to break even after all of the unwanted parts were sold. June 26, 200519 yr comment_128611 That Z looks like it was in the same shape as mine was when i first bought it, i spent 1000 on mine, but it was complete and only had 50k miles on it with a clear title. I brought it home got it running, driving and stopping, but little did i know what I was gettin into. I tore off the fenders, hood, doors, seats, hatch, wheels, and suspension so it was just the unibody. It looked a little rusty but i figured i could just sandblast the unibody. So im out there workin on it and i look up only to see this massive whole in the unibody ( right side of the engine bay right over the inner wheel well). I then start tapping it with a screwdriver to see the extent of the rust and it was alot worse than i expected. There wasnt a 5 inch gap between rot holes. So now im stuck with a nice engine and suspension with nothing to put it in =( if anyones got a shell out there im searchin! Well anyways im just tryin to say check it over because looks can be decieving.
