Front air dam does not fit... What is it?

I purchased a front air dam for a 70-74 Z from Motorsport. I had it painted and I am now ready to install it. After drilling the holes for the T/S and widening the front between the headlight buckets, I have it clamped into place. Here is the problem: The indentation for the bumper is about an 1" too short. My '71 Z bumper indent is longer than the fiberglass spoiler indent. The turn signals do not fit either. Have I got a late 260 spoiler? What is it?

Yikes! when I ordered the full face dashcover for my '73, MSA sent a cover for a '72. it was cheeper to keep it and order another than it was to pay shipping back-so I have an extra-hope you aren't in the same boat. But Since you have painted it-you may be.

You're correct there. I am thinking I may put the car back together with the original metal and put an eyebrow front spoiler on the car. I kinda like the retro look anyway.

50-1402 looks the same as my urethane 50-1411. That one comes with holes for the turn signals beneath the bumper. I had to drill holes to get things mounted but nothing as extreme as what you had to do.

I am leaning toward going more retro in my restoration. I think I will put the stock metal pieces back onto the Z and use a BRE-style spook. I think it will look like most of the Z's back in the 70's. It is too bad this new spoiler did not fit. I have no idea what they sent me.

Did you call MSA and ask them about it?

I guess this is the best fit they have. I am selling this spoiler and getting a BRE-like spook. I have a guy here that is wanting a spoiler. Good chance to sell it!
