Posted June 28, 200519 yr comment_128750 The two seater coupes, not the 2+2 station wagon :tapemouth Many around? Thinking about one for my next project, stick a turbo V6 in it, do the suspension, wide wheels..........Wouldn't want a really nice one because it would be modded but one with a decent body and interior. My general impression is that most ZX's are used and abused until they are worth nothing, parked in the sun and rain until the interior falls apart, paint goes, rust takes over. The alternatives are to get one from the US or Japan. Any suggestions? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16387-280zx-coupes-in-oz/ Share on other sites
June 28, 200519 yr comment_128767 You could do..... something a little like this :cheeky: Never seen one in Aus, but I'm sure there is one or two imports. Probably be best to import one from Japan and don't worry about the new engine! L28 Turbo mmmm... June 28, 200519 yr comment_128769 Something in the back of my mind tells me that 2 seater zx's weren't imported into Aus.All Ozzie examples are 2+2.MOM Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16387-280zx-coupes-in-oz/#findComment-128769 Share on other sites
June 28, 200519 yr comment_128774 I believe Mike is right about the 2+2 being the only 280ZX delivered to Aus, and Lachlan is right about Japan and the L28 Turbo, price could be an issue with that option.Hate that pink car by the way.Alan. June 28, 200519 yr comment_128780 Any idea how much longer/shorter the coupe is compared to the 2+2? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16387-280zx-coupes-in-oz/#findComment-128780 Share on other sites
June 28, 200519 yr comment_128787 I've raced a standard 280zx 2+2 on dirt and it was gun, think about it 4w disc, P/S, fuel inj. Other than Carlos I've only seen one other 2 seater advertised in the last 10 yearsBest thing would be chasing panels etc. I can't give away the 280 parts filling up my shed :ogre: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16387-280zx-coupes-in-oz/#findComment-128787 Share on other sites
June 28, 200519 yr comment_128788 A bit more info about the 2+2 thing, no 2 seater S130's, Z31's or Z32's were sold in Australia. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16387-280zx-coupes-in-oz/#findComment-128788 Share on other sites

L28 Turbo mmmm...Woah, Mad Maxine!A bit more info about the 2+2 thing, no 2 seater S130's, Z31's or Z32's were sold in Australia Not true. True that none were sold by Nissan, but some came over to Australia in the mid 80's as second hand imports and sold through second hand car dealers (much the same way as R33's and Z32's are today). We got heaps of 2+2's, rx7's cordias, and the odd R30 Skyline coupe, over here in WA. My mum almost bought a R30 Skyline coupe, but got a corona coupe instread because it was an auto, and the R30 was a manual. :stupid: So they are available. I know someone that has one. And there was one in the Pizza movie. Very rare though.
