280ZX Coupes in Oz?

The two seater coupes, not the 2+2 station wagon :tapemouth Many around? Thinking about one for my next project, stick a turbo V6 in it, do the suspension, wide wheels..........

Wouldn't want a really nice one because it would be modded but one with a decent body and interior. My general impression is that most ZX's are used and abused until they are worth nothing, parked in the sun and rain until the interior falls apart, paint goes, rust takes over.

The alternatives are to get one from the US or Japan. Any suggestions?

You could do..... something a little like this :cheeky:

Never seen one in Aus, but I'm sure there is one or two imports. Probably be best to import one from Japan and don't worry about the new engine! L28 Turbo mmmm...

I've raced a standard 280zx 2+2 on dirt and it was gun,

think about it 4w disc, P/S, fuel inj.

Other than Carlos I've only seen one other 2 seater advertised in the last 10 years

Best thing would be chasing panels etc.

I can't give away the 280 parts filling up my shed :ogre:

Woah, Mad Maxine!

A bit more info about the 2+2 thing, no 2 seater S130's, Z31's or Z32's were sold in Australia

Not true. True that none were sold by Nissan, but some came over to Australia in the mid 80's as second hand imports and sold through second hand car dealers (much the same way as R33's and Z32's are today). We got heaps of 2+2's, rx7's cordias, and the odd R30 Skyline coupe, over here in WA. My mum almost bought a R30 Skyline coupe, but got a corona coupe instread because it was an auto, and the R30 was a manual. :stupid:

So they are available. I know someone that has one. And there was one in the Pizza movie. Very rare though.

Never said they weren't available, just that they were never sold here, new being inferred.
