Nissan "Z" Adverstising Campaign - Who's got photos?

Ok, so I was in LA on vacation last week. Needless to say it was a fantastic vacation, sure beats the weather in PA. Anyways, right off the highway, near a nissan corporate building I was this awesome billboard. It was an advertisement for the Z series. This one had a picture of a 280ZX on it and the quote said "35 years of bitchin". I had to take a photo of it, because it was great to see that kind of stuff on a billboard

A few days later I was driving on the same highway, but I noticed the 280ZX was gone, "no" i think to my self, they can't take down the Z billboard, and then I noticied it was a 300Z billboard that said "35 years of rad", complimented by a picture of a 300Z.

So I realized that nissan was running an add rotation on that billboard, starting at the 240Z, which somebody took a picture of a while back, and now it is almost to the 350Z. The purpose of this thread is to see if I can gather photos of each car aand slogan as it ran its time in the limelight on the bill board. So I'm trying to see if we can gather up photos of each car and its slogan, a complete series of the billboards

*It is kind of hard to take good photos while moving at 70 mph

I got the 240z.

Yep. Same picture as from the magazine. As I recall from earlier discussions that one was edited to look like a '70 with the inclusion of hatch vents.

Of course, there are a lot of other good shots in there as well. For those of you that missed it: it's the anniversary edition of the swimsuit magazine with all of the best photos. It's kind of a chronological review. All of ads in the magazine are from Nissan and go in the same chronological order as the pictures. On the back cover is the 350Z.

My wife thinks it's funny that I would buy the magazine just for that ads. I didn't tell her that wasn't the only reason ...

MikeW,

What year is the issue?

Will

2002; it's really more of a special edition that sold for $9.99 on newsstands. I wouldn't have even known about it had I not been in a bookstore and saw someone flipping through one and saw one of the cars.

Sports Illustrated

Ulimate Swimsuit

1964-2002

Here are a couple on eBay:

The billboard is a rolling ad campaign by Nissan for the 35th Anniversary Z. They started with the 240Z, "35 years of Groovy" and transitioned to the 280ZX and now the 300ZX. The 350Z is next up.

The 240Z was from the Sports Illustrated Ultimate Swimsuit Edition that was on the news stands Nov 02-Feb03. Nissan was the only advertiser for that special edition of 38 years of swimsuits. The reason why my avatar is the billboard is because I own the car that was used to make the board. It is a 72, so they did some minor photoshop work to make it appear as a '70.

I did post a picture of the first board on this site in the ads sections for photos so if anyone has pics of the 280ZX and 300ZX maybe they could post them there for others to view.

I got this set of Nissan advertising posters on eBay recently. They were the same shots used on the billboards mentioned in this thread. Since no one else had posted pics of the 300ZX and 350Z cars and slogans I thought I'd post this picture. Very cool that your car was the one used for the 240Z ad Zulaytr.
