Well some of you might remember me from a while back, but for you who dont; Im Chris, I live in Perth, Australia and now own a very rusty but running and licenced '75 260Z 2+2!!! Im now a 1st year motor mechanic and 17yrs.

Well heres my Z's story. I bought it of the original owners son. It was for sale for $600 so i called the guy ASAP. I was only the 2nd caller! So I went and had a look at it. Its very rusty and the paintwork is SHOCKING! He told me his story about how it was his mothers etc etc and said that if he gave it to the wreckers they would give him $88. So he offered it to me for $88 because it would get a good home, so i snapped it up!

Its done apparently 297,000kms and is auto but runs fine. Just the body has alot of cancer! So im going to cure(i know, very optimistic word) the cancer and respray it and go from there.

A few questions though...

Did Aussie S30's come with air-con and/or power steering because i dont and want em! So if you have some old units(in Perth), PM me!

How easy is a manual transfur and how expencive?(i can do all the labour). Anybody have a manual sitting around in Perth?

PICS!- better ones on SUN-

Same color and same wheels as my 78 280Z. Power steering was not an option on any S30 as far as I know, but A/C was. The manual trans swap is fairly straightforward. You just need to acquire all of the attending parts and pieces. Trans, clutch (disc, t/o bearing, pressure plate), flywheel, pedal set, slave and master cylinder and lines for them, and the clips, fasteners, nuts and bolts that go with it all. I don't know if the manual driveshaft is different from the a/t driveshaft. Look, Will(hls30.com), he's got your mirror!

Welcome back!

I have all belief you will have a nice car before long!

Stephen-look again, it looks like a LH mirror that had had the flag rotated...but, Chris, if you wouldn't mind, take a fet pictures of your door mirror from the front and the back-we yanks are looking for a true RH version of that mirror.

Thanks,

Will

Chris

I saw that in Sunday's paper and did not think it would last long.

You could not go wrong for $88 - that would have to be one of the cheapest buys for a very long time. Looks like a god set of rims on the car. If you are taking extra pics and posting how about a few interior pics as well.

The WAZ register guys can be extremely valuable contacts for anyone living in Western Australia and they have started a register of Zeds - I am sure they would welcome details of your car.

All the best with your project.

Regards

Dave

The W.A. 240Z and 260Z Register is about to become an incorporated club. This means we will be able to attend car show days and track days as we will have public liability insurance and (hopefully) CAMS affiliation. You can learn more about us at:

www.wazcars.com.

Come long to our monthly meetings and join the growing Western Australian Z-crowd!

Thanks for the comments! The cancer isnt TOO bad, nothing really structural. The underneith is all good except for where the rear wheel arch meats the floor, that corner on both sides inside the cabin is pretty bad. I had a good poke with a screw driver and the only major work is under the doors and the area stated above.

Geez I cant beleive that your all after my bloody mirror! ROFL Well i took some pics, It must be broken because there is a rag or something in ball joint. So how much are you willing to pay for it? :D Because I have some new chrome mirrors from an old car at home... This one is a bit damaged and after taking the rag out the joint is pretty shot :disappoin

Ill get some good pics up Sat arvo when its light(i get home when its dark atm).
