Posted July 1, 200519 yr comment_129130 Quick question for all of you. I have my whole shell stripped down now its time to remove the engine and drive train. Can i remove these ALL together by supporting them up and removing the mounts? this way I can just slip the new shell on ( IF I CAN EVER FREAKIN FIND ONE) I looked at it as i was removing the exhaust and suspension and all that good stuff, looked like i could but i figured i would ask incase theres something i dont know about. The jacks would be as following: 2 under the engine, 1 under tranny mount and 2 supporting the drive shaft. July 1, 200519 yr comment_129132 you should be able to. That is actually the way the 350z service manual says to remove the engine in it. Don't remove the mounts, remove the cross members, if you still have the suspension on, you can leave that too. July 1, 200519 yr comment_129133 At the factory, the chassis were lowered onto the crossmember which held the drive line-leave the crossmember-a jack under it with a brick or cinderbloch at either end, a jack under the tranny, and put a piece of plywood down for the drive shaft-not heavy! You should be good! Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16417-shell-removal/#findComment-129133 Share on other sites
