ricksaia Posted July 4, 2005 Share #55 Posted July 4, 2005 Ben (v12horse), thank you for the thumbs up on my avatar. No, the picture is not my engine bay yet. It will look like that in about 2 months when my car is finally finished.CDave, I see you live in Florida, was your car purchased in California? The reason I ask is because your vin number is so close to mine.Talk to you all soon. Happy Fourth of July. Rick.

sblake01 Posted July 5, 2005 Share #59 Posted July 5, 2005 There were several letters in there. According to the Haynes book AND THE FSM:GHLS30 [1] [2] [3] [4] ###### [1] F = 5-spd gearbox A = auto trans (blank = 4 spd [2] U = North American model (U.S.A and Canada) [3] N = Canada model V = California emmissions/spec (blank) = fed. spec [4] C = Air conditioning So mine should have been HLS30AUC 434056 It must have been one of the last 280Zs made. I winder what the serial number of the LAST 280Z was? thx Well mine is 462153 made in 5/78. That's some 28000+ later than yours and I have seen later.
