July 4, 200519 yr comment_129569 Ben (v12horse), thank you for the thumbs up on my avatar. No, the picture is not my engine bay yet. It will look like that in about 2 months when my car is finally finished.CDave, I see you live in Florida, was your car purchased in California? The reason I ask is because your vin number is so close to mine.Talk to you all soon. Happy Fourth of July. Rick. July 5, 200519 yr comment_129640 There were several letters in there. According to the Haynes book AND THE FSM:GHLS30 [1] [2] [3] [4] ###### [1] F = 5-spd gearbox A = auto trans (blank = 4 spd [2] U = North American model (U.S.A and Canada) [3] N = Canada model V = California emmissions/spec (blank) = fed. spec [4] C = Air conditioning So mine should have been HLS30AUC 434056 It must have been one of the last 280Zs made. I winder what the serial number of the LAST 280Z was? thx Well mine is 462153 made in 5/78. That's some 28000+ later than yours and I have seen later.
