July 3, 200519 yr comment_129413 Mite as well put mine on. Its a pretty low number compared to most of yours! But its a 260z 2+2 so it is in a bit of a different feild :nervous: 6/75 GRS30-005545. It would have been in the 'deceiced' file if anyone else bought it though Restoration is coming along fine! July 4, 200519 yr comment_129489 Mine is HLS30-434056 (brown/Brown) I think it should be HLS30A-434056 because it has an automatic transmission. According to the serial number, it's supposed to be a ZX? (got the serials from the 'Datsun Z club.') I wonder if your VIN accurately describes your car? FYI -- If you didn't know, you can't run your S30 VIN through the CARFAX system because it will only accept a 17-digit VIN, which didn't start until the late 70s/early 80s. thx Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16419-how-close-are-our-vin-s/?&page=4#findComment-129489 Share on other sites

July 4, 200519 yr comment_129506 There were several letters in there. According to the Haynes book AND THE FSM: GHLS30 [1] [2] [3] [4] ###### [1] F = 5-spd gearbox A = auto trans (blank = 4 spd [2] U = North American model (U.S.A and Canada) [3] N = Canada model V = California emmissions/spec (blank) = fed. spec [4] C = Air conditioning So mine should have been HLS30AUC 434056 It must have been one of the last 280Zs made.
